As 2020 opens her doors, I find myself giddy with excitement for this coming year and all that is in store! At the same time, I wanted to take a moment to reflect upon the what an incredible year 2019 provided!
First and foremost, HUGE THANKS TO MY CLIENTS! Because of my pledge to donate money for every closed transaction this last year to Franklin Elementary (one of our local schools serving Kensington and Talmadge), as well as general sponsorships and support of their events, I was able to donate a total of $3100 to them last year! This is an achievement I am most proud of as it directly enhances and enriches the experience of the students, teachers, staff, and families of our local community. It also helps support housing values! We all know how sought-after properties are when they have amazing neighborhood schools! So, for those of you who worked with me last year, give yourselves a huge pat on the back for having contributed toward this!!!
If you did not buy or sell a property last year with me, there is still time to get in on the action so I can continue to support Franklin and other neighborhood non-profits. The market is still providing ample opportunities for buyers and sellers alike. Rates have been incredibly low for several years now and are not expected to increase drastically this year – which means you have time to lock in that low rate which gives you more purchase power. My thought has always been that your rate is really what determines what you ultimately pay for a home (have you ever studied a payment chart for the life of a 30 year loan?). While it is true that when interest rates do start to rise, housing prices should go down a bit but I don’t see them drastically adjusting to a point that would offset the benefit of securing a long term low interest rate.
If you have been on the fence about buying or selling, I would welcome the opportunity to discuss your options with you. You owe it to yourself to work with a real estate professional with skill, experience, energy and a level of care that not only applies to your individual transaction but extends in to the community she pours he heart into.
Thank you for reading and here’s to a fabulous 2020!
