As we find ourselves continually more isolated than probably any other period in our lives, I find myself increasingly grateful for the community I have surrounded myself with.
Along that line, comes the educational environment we place our children in. We are ever so fortunate to have Franklin Elementary as part of our Ken-Tal family! If you have school aged children and have not yet enrolled your child in school for the upcoming year, whatever that will look like, I encourage you to consider the Franklin family. Having watched themevolve and grow into a STEAM Magnet school which means that the teachers are specifically trained in teaching curriculum on dynamic lessons in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Music, they are a truly incredible resource as a free, public school.
Having raised my now grown children in Talmadge, I drove them for years to schools outside our community. To have Franklin as a primary option would have been incredible and I encourage parents to check it out. The opportunity for our children to “go to” school, if even virtually for a while, with other children from our neighborhoods will be more impactful now for social development opportunities, providing collaborative education opportunities for families within walking distance from one another.
Franklin is enrolling now and there are plenty of parents from Kensington and Talmadge I would be happy to put you in contact with so they can tell you of their experience there. Call or email me any time. Let’s continue to support our neighborhoods, schools, and families. Most of all, stay healthy, Ken-Tal!
